So many games, so little time.
However, the core players – known to you as Gutz, Nessime and The Warforged – are up for trying taster sessions of other games. Think of these as auditions, or tryouts if you prefer, for games which might make it into the regular lineup:
- Chain Reaction, which could well lead into other THW games.
- Labyrinth Lord. At least two (non-core) players would rather play OD&D than anything else, and LL is as close to that as I’d go these days. I suspect my nostalgia for the Good Old Days is just that, nostalgia.
- Mythic GM Emulator, which I tried in the early days of the Arioniad. This has the benefits that we could all play, there would be zero prep time, and I wouldn’t need to worry about spoilers in session write ups.
- Stars Without Number. The player you know as The Warforged now has this, and is even more enthusiastic about it than I am. So it looks like he will beat me to the punch on this one; we’ve negotiated adjacent sectors with a trade route between them, so we can each play in the other’s game. Win-win.
Equally interesting are the ones that aren’t going to make it to the tryouts; Diaspora, Eclipse Phase, Pathfinder. When it came to the crunch, I didn’t want to put in the effort for a trial game, at least not yet.
