Don’t Judge a Book by its Cover

This is my new GM’s notebook for Beasts & Barbarians, which I found in a back alley in Turkey last week.

I like to think the books of evil sorcery in The Skinner of Syranthia look like this, except that their eyes swivel to follow you as you move, obviously.

  1. !!! That is so unbelievable! I am SO jealous!
    BTW, what was the original function it was being sold as? (shopping list, kid’s school exercise book?)
    Having said that, I’d be inclined to keep it in a sealed box during the night (just in case…)

    • It was in a souvenir shop, sold as a simple notebook. The “eye” is a common motif in Greece and Turkey, where according to local superstition it averts bad luck; so the sealed box may not be necessary. :)
