Portable Gaming Kit
“It seems that perfection is attained not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing more to remove.” – Antoine de St. Exupery.
I hate carrying things, so although I have a large gaming library, I generally run things using my Portable Gaming Kit, especially if travelling or at friends’ houses.
The kit consists of some dice, and an A5 (148 x 210 mm) display book containing:
- Half a dozen sheets of key rules and tables, for quick reference.
- Character Sheets.
This is better than other types of file, as a quick sponge-down of the sleeves and covers removes cat hairs, snack crumbs and spilt drinks without damaging the pages. An A5 folder is easier to stuff into a flight bag than a larger A4 one. The hard copies are printed from Acrobat using the two sheets per page option, which shrinks them to the right size.
“The secret we should never let the gamemasters know is that they don’t need any rules.” – Gary Gygax
